Tail Boom Painting and Precision

Another Stop Press moment as the very first structurally representative tail boom returns from the initial paint process.

20 Nov 2023

It looks massive where it sits in DC1 waiting to be fitted with its tail rotor. What is notable is the elegance of its shape, not to mention its sleek surface, which has been primed, sealed, and painted, with pin-holing eliminated and the gap and flush detailed to an impressive 2 to 3 mm panel closure gap.

As Jason Hill remarks “the whole thing is really starting to look like a helicopter now.”

Exciting times indeed!
