It’s pretty inspiring to see the factory shelves laden with completed components, manufactured in-house, part of our policy of building a helicopter from the ground up. They await assembly into the main rotor systems for the two HX50 prototypes to be presented in December.
15 Nov 2023
This includes two swash plate assemblies, with the jack beams for the collective assembled, pitch and roll on either side, and the fixed part of the scissor links, waiting to go on to the gearboxes.
Elsewhere in Hangar One the first set has already been built up, complete with swash plate mounting tube, spherical bearing and both rotating and fixed parts of the swash plate. It includes the jack beams that connect to the assembly via pitch links and finished cuffs, into which the lag damper and the strap packs go.
This is definitely vertical integration in action!
